This handmade pansy trio decorative nightlight was inspired by the flowers I used to start from seed during the long winters of New England. There was a variety called "antique shades pansies" which didn’t have the traditional dark faces and whiskers, but instead looked as though someone has painted them with pastel watercolors. To me these soft shades represented the coming of spring and they were the first plants to flower. (Of course I had to start them in January in order to make that happen). I chose one of each color to make this glass painting and swirled a little purple in the centers to look like the real variegated petals of the flowers.
