Calico Money Cat

     No two calico's are ever alike and the same is true for this hand painted calico kitty nightlight. After seeing our tabby cat glass art, a customer emailed and asked if we could try to make a Tortoise-shell. Since it was in the fall she also asked if the colors could be autumn-like. We created this design for her in the burnt orange of fall and placed red poppy flowers in the vines on the cream arch. The tortie was painted all white and while the glass painting was wet, the brown, ginger and black paints were added but not mixed together. We always work on a perfectly level surface so the paints in this case blend a little but dry while they are still somewhat distinct. Because of the nature of this technique the fur colors, patterns and shading are alway unique.
